“Those who never set off never arrive…” – the title of my e-book (in German).
A tent, a fully loaded motorcycle and no fixed route: two trips through 24 countries – from the North Cape to Georgia.
In 2022 I set off from Germany: through Denmark and Sweden, up Norway's west coast and by ferry to the Lofoten Islands, all the way to the North Cape – and back through the Baltic states. Seven months, with a tent and no fixed route.
In 2023 I left again, this time heading south-east: from May to December, right across Europe as far as Georgia. Mostly alone, always on the Tiger. What happened along the way is in the e-book.

First up to the North Cape and through the Baltic states. Later right across Europe to Georgia – and back via Greece, Italy and Spain. I rode through every green country on the map myself.
Built in 2012, a three-cylinder adventure bike – and everything that had to fit on two wheels and into a few panniers.

And then I saw the metal globe I had only ever known from photos. To put it kindly: minimalist and simple. I stood in front of it, and I had reached my goal.
Rode into town, wandered about, bought a postcard, then bought stamps, couldn't find the motorbike, walked right across town, found the motorbike again …
The road ran straight on forever; nobody came the other way, nobody passed. Out here on a motorcycle, your head truly clears.
So there I sat at the table with a family I hadn't even known two hours earlier. And yet I felt as if I already belonged.
So for the next few days I stood on the ladder in swimming trunks and flip-flops, trying to get at least most of the old paint off with a wire brush, a broom and a scraper.
Even standing outside the door, something smelled odd. It smelled roughly like the foot end of a sleeping bag after a four-day festival. Without showers, of course.
“On the way there I saw someone outside a supermarket who had loaded up a little robot. … The little vehicle set off and straight away had to cross a zebra crossing. It moved forwards and backwards, unsure whether it could cross the road or not. After a while, once the cars had stopped, the robot was able to carry on. … For the sake of the shopping, I hope the robot can keep things cold as well.”
The e-book is still in progress. If you pre-order now, you'll be among the first to get it: as soon as it's finished, you'll receive the invoice by email and, once payment is received, your download link automatically. You pay nothing before then.
